Hay Fundraiser
by Kim Sweeney on
As everyone in Florida knows, we are experiencing cold temperatures here, which means lots of hay. The rescue currently has 27 horses between two foster homes: my personal farm, where rehabbing horses are housed, and the 40-acre farm. I provide 850 lb. alfalfa blocks, o/a half blocks, and loose orchard alfalfa hay. Our normal hay bill is approximately $1,500 a week. Right now, it is close to double that.
This cold snap is due to hang around for the next 12 days, along with it getting even colder this weekend. The rescue was blessed with seven new blankets and neck pieces by a wonderful lady. We are so thankful. Now EVERYONE has a blanket.
Please donate! Just $20 buys a bale of hay. If you would rather stop in at any J &J tack store and buy a bale or a gift card toward a block please do so, every little bit helps. Let’s get these guys an abundance of hay to keep them warm.
As always, I am so thankful for ALL my donors, the rescue remains flourishing and taking the horses no one else will with your support. Stay warm all.
