Angel and Seabreeze

by Kim Sweeney on

I received a call from another rescue asking if I could help these two horses in dire need, as they are full and had already committed to picking up three others yesterday. It is important that rescues help each other, so I agreed. As these two souls came off the trailer, I wept. This is one of the worst cases I have ever had. Their owner is under hospice care and her relatives were clearly not caring for the horses. Angel is a 23-year-old quarter horse and Seabreeze is a 24-year-old appendix, I believe. If you follow my rescue, you will see.

I have not asked for donations since December during giving Tuesday, the Rescue has been in a very good place both financially with the number of horses that we were helping and with the use of a incredible 40 acre farm. This case and these two babies will cost thousands to rehab. There will be several Ferrier visits, equine dentist visits, and vet visits in their future, starting with complete exams, x-rays, and bloodwork on Tuesday.

My Rescue is known for taking the horses that nobody else will and I’m proud of that. But I cannot do it alone. I’m asking if you feel led to please donate for these two horses’ rehab. I have already been contacted by someone who would be interested in adopting them after they are completely rehabbed, so they can stay together. But right now, their future is unknown until we get some answers. I love what I do and I know it is something that I am truly called to do, but today is hard, very hard to see what someone has allowed to happen to these two innocent horses.

If you’re unable to donate financially, please just send them prayers and keep them in your thoughts. I will be updating their progress every week and will let everyone know what the Vet finds on Tuesday. Here is the link to donate: https://donate.fallenoak.org.

Thanks and be blessed!
